Maud, Princess of Wales GCVO (Maud Georgiana Elizabeth née Cavendish; born 28 May 1985) is the wife of Henry, Prince of Wales, who is the second born child and heir apparent of Queen Anne II.
She was born the second daughter of Robert Cavendish, 13th Duke of Devonshire and Philippa Dalberg-Acton at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, England. She attended the University of Durham, where she studied communications. She also played violin in the Palatinate Orchestra from 2004 until her graduation in 2007.
She began dating Henry, Prince of Wales in 2010. They announced their engagement on 18 October 2011 and married on 19 April 2012 at Westminster Abbey. The Prince and Princess have two children: Prince William of Wales (born 14 November 2014) and Prince Edward of Wales (born 18 July 2016), who are respectively second and third in line to the throne.
